Dear All,
This list has always has so many useful suggestions - so I hope you can
help on this.
As some of you may know, I have a wealth of knowledge when it comes to
Musical Theater - and I have also performed leads in several opera (most
notably at the Dicapo Opera in NYC). I have training as a classical singer
AND as a Bway performer.
Recently, I spent 2 years in Germany (singing Carlotta in Phantom of the
Opera) - and I got onboard with a fledgling Musical Theater School teaching
voice. And - to my surprise, I was REALLY good at it! Other students started
requesting me - and my students progressed in leaps and bounds. When I
decided to leave Phantom and Germany, the school repeatedly asked me to stay
- but I am first a performer -(and - I am not ashamed to admit, a Patriot! -
I love the USA).
Anyway, I am interested in teaching voice again now that I am back home -
but have not yet found a niche. I live in NYC - where there are so many
quacks (and good teachers as well, I must admit) - but I would like to know
how to start. I have written reccomendations from my students in Germany -
but one would be hard pressed to call them up. (Their English is not that
good, and they all have big jobs and so do not live in one place).
Any ideas?
